Training Facilities
As well as offering Health and Safety Inspections in Design and Technology, A Caulfield have a FULLY functional and operational Design Technology Workshops and Training Room for HIRE.
We currently run core training courses in Resistant Materials and Specialist Extension Levels for practising teachers, newly qualified teachers, technicians and site managers.
Our workshops contain all the necessary machinery and equipment with extraction including, circular saws, thicknesser planers, bandsaws, wood turning lathes etc.
In addition we also have a new Heat Treatment Area with oxy- acetylene/brazing hearth/furnace/crucibles and sand casting facilities.
If you are an accredited Consultant/Advisor in these areas, but have no facilities for carrying out the training, please contact us for costs and availability.
Benefits of using A Caulfield Training Facilites:
Our training room is approximately 55m2 with tea and coffee making facilities in its purpose built kitchenette. For the technology courses (limited by the number of machines) it will acomodate upto 16 people but more for other training purposes. Lunch is provided on site by an outside caterer from a selected menu for which we contribute £3.00 per person. Free car parking facilities are available directly outside the building. Newton House is 10 minutes walk from Welwyn Garden City mainline station, Welwyn Garden City bus stop and town centre and about 1 mile away from the A1. There are also numerous hotels within 5 minutes drive.
